Reflecting on the Goodness of God

"And God Said"

 The Splendor of His Creation

1 Samuel 16:7 "But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."

David who in this text would be the future King of Israel, today would not be considered for any leadership position or even have faith in as one who could lead a group of kids let alone a nation.  Saul on the other hand had the appearance of a leader, tall, imposing, powerful on the outside, but on the inside he was a coward, selfish and could not even lead a horse that was stranded in the desert to water, and he was rejected by God.  God knew his heart.

The people wanted a King and God through Samuel the Prophet gave them what they wanted, but God in His foreknowledge of things to come placed a young, ruddy kid who his own father saw as insufficient and did even invite him along with his brothers to meet with Prophet.  However, God knew David, even when he was alone attending his father's sheep God knew he would be a man after His own heart.

Were you ever told that you would amount to nothing? Have you ever experienced rejection, and felt insufficient?  Have you looked at yourself in the mirror and dreamed or desired to be someone else? God does not make any mistakes, He created you, just as you are and there will never be another you, you may have the resemblance of your mother or father, but you are unique, a splendor of His  Creation, and  you are special in the eyes of God.

The following is a collection of pictures showing the beauty of God's Creation.  When we look around us and see the wonders of Creation, how can one say there is no God?

Enjoy and believe He is!

for thou hast created all things,
and for thy pleasure they are and were created."
